Hotel owner in the hot seat over $30 million loss from scandal
The owner of a Dayton Beach hotel says she has been fined $30,000 for her part in a $30.5 million loss that has engulfed the hotel industry.
In a court filing Tuesday, the Dayton Beach Hotel said that a company it controlled “lost approximately $15.3 million through mismanagement, including overspending and poor customer service.”
The hotel says it has filed for bankruptcy protection and has agreed to pay more than $6.2 million in restitution to creditors.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.
